The detail and clarity of a photograph yet the feel of an old master painting gives the photographs an artistic conflict: a conflict between looking at a real subject with all the detail and clarity of a photograph, but the artistic treatment removes the literal feel to give an unreality to the scene. Printed 60 x 90 inches or larger reminds us of the grand scale of old master paintings, not photography.

I am a photographer with over 35 years of experience from news to corporate photography.Over those years I have seen the standard of photography fall to low levels. I want to remind people that photography is an art to be taken seriously and has the ability to create beautiful works of art in its own right. That technology is not a replacement for artistic talent and sensitivity, that there is more to digital photography than clicking the shutter. It is about creating images adapting the latest technology to the same principles old master painters had. Its time to improve photography standards and raise it up from the mundane.
