Zhang Dapeng is a researcher and practitioner in the field of digital innovative design of cultural heritage, and currently serves as a teacher at Zhejiang Sci-Tech University. His work The Seasons of Dunhuang takes the visual language of Dunhuang murals and the culture of the Chinese 24 Solar Terms as the research focal points. By analyzing the spectrum of ancient mineral colors and the spatio-temporal narrative logic of decorative patterns, and combining digital technology reconstruction with font design experiments, he has formed a set of visual transformation methodology that can be adapted to the modern communication context.
